James Lewis Brown, who has been a patrolman on the police force since January 11, 1909, is a native of Montgomery County. He was born in the village of Brookville on November 20, 1879. When a mere lad his parents removed to the little village of New Lebanon, Montgomery County, where he received his schooling and grew to manhood. After following various forms of employment his ambition to become a salesman was gratified, and he followed this occupation until his appointment to the force. He is proving as good an officer as he was a salesman. Mr. Brown is unmarried.
