Scott M. Anderson is the only patrolman of the Dayton police department hailing from the "Old Dominion." He was born at Cover Hill, Rockingham County, Virginia, on July 9, 1872. After receiving his education in the public schools he filled a number of clerical positions which qualified him to become a traveling salesman. He followed this occupation until appointed to the force, on August 15, 1906. Mr. Anderson is a member of the Knights of Pythias. His family consists of a wife, Katie, and three children, Gladys, Walter and Ellsworth.
