William Dickerson Eaton was born June 23, 1875, at Port Jervis, Orange county, new York. While he was very young his parents came to Ohio, settling at Springfield. After completing his education in the public schools of that city he accepted employment in the restaurant business. Later he removed to Dayton, where he was conducting a hotel and restaurant when appointed patrol driver, on April 1, 1901. "Billy" Eaton is considered one of the best drivers in the business and numbers his friends by scores. He is affiliated with the I. O. O. F. and K. of P. lodges.
