George Henry Feirstine was born on a farm in Montgomery County, Ohio, on May 11, 1874. He adopted farming for an occupation after he had finished his education in the district school, and remained on the farm until he had grown up. He learned much about butchering while on the farm and naturally drifted into that occupation after removing to Dayton. Mr. Feirstine was appointed patrolman on the police force, August 1, 1906. He is affiliated with the I. O. O. F. and Knights of Pythias, and is well known among the members of these organizations. Mr. Feirstine is a widower with two sons, Harold and Roy.
