William H. Getz, who became a patrolman August 18, 1902, was born in the city of Cincinnati, October 30, 1868. His parents later moved to Dayton where he was educated in the public schools. He picked assembling as his trade and followed it for a number of years. Later his desire for out-of-door work led him to learn the painting trade, and he continued this work until his appointment. He and his wife, Elizabeth, belong to the Lutheran Church, and are the parents of two children, Sylvia and Harold. He is a member of Miami Lodge, K. of P., and Dayton Company, No. 5, U. R. K. of P.
