Michael Ambros Glynn, who is of Irish descent, is a native of Dayton, having been born in the Gem City on July 13, 1864. After receiving his education in the public schools he attained the ambition of his youth by becoming a railroad locomotive fireman. He stayed with the work, and, after having served the required length of time in this capacity, was promoted to engineer. He was following this occupation when appointed to the police force as a patrolman, July 13, 1901, which was incidentally his birthday. Mr. Glynn belongs to the Modern Woodmen, Catholic Knights of Ohio and the I. O. of F.
