Allen P. Grove was born February 10, 1868, at Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio. He received the advantage of an education in the schools of that city and passed the early years of his life in that city. For several years he followed various forms of employment there, when a position as motorman on a street car was opened to him in Dayton. He removed his family to the Gem City soon afterwards and followed the street car business until appointed patrolman on the police force, March 12, 1901. Mr. Grove is affiliated with the Knights of Pythias. His wife's name is Charlotte.
