Thomas C. Grundish was born at Middletown, Butler County, Ohio, on May 16, 1875. While a young lad his parents removed to Miamisburg, Ohio, where he received an excellent education in the public schools. When "Uncle Sam" called for men during the Spanish American war he enlisted and served for three years. On his return to Dayton he secured a position as express messenger, and was so engaged when appointed to the police force on August 3, 1905. Mr. Grundish is an Eagle and a member of the Association of United Spanish War Veterans. He has a wife, Catharine, and a daughter, Margaret.
