Floyd DeLacy Hartman, who is of German-American parentage, was born at Salem, Montgomery County, Ohio, May 1, 1885. He attended the village school and later came to Dayton to make his way in the world. He was employed by the People's Railway Company when appointed patrolman, on July 5, 1906. He has been a capable officer during the few years he has been a member of the department. He and his wife, Edith, are the parents of two children, Howard and Marvel. Mr. Hartman is a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics.
