Edwin Mortimer Hendrick was born at Cincinnati on October 11, 1858. While still a lad his parents removed to Dayton and he received the advantages of an education in the public schools of that city. After reaching manhood he embarked in the grocery business and was very successful. His interest in public affairs resulted in his election as County Infirmary Director at one time. He was appointed to the police force on March 12, 1901, and has been a capable officer. He is a prominent member of Iola Lodge, No. 83, K. of P. Mr. Kendrick has a wife, Emma, and three children, Louisa, Mattie and David.
