A most congenial fellow is Thomas McDonnell, one of the patrol wagon drivers, who was born in Dayton on September 18, 1872. After completing his education in the common schools he engaged himself in various forms of labor until appointed to his present position, September 1, 1898. Mr. McDonnell is a member of the Independent Order of Foresters. His family consists of his wife, Margaret, and two children, Edward and Margaret. "Tom" has hauled many "crooks" to prison, and has learned much about the criminal and his habits through his observations from his seat on the patrol.
