Frank William Neu was born in the city of Dayton on August 10, 1865. He received his early training and education at St. Mary's Institute. After leaving school he sought work in a local factory and learned to be a chair maker. He was engaged in this capacity when he received his appointment as patrolman on the police force, on March 12, 1901. He is proving an efficient officer. Mr. Neu is the head of an interesting family, consisting of his wife, Julia, and seven children, August, Louis, Henry, Frank, Eleanora, Leona and Richard. He is a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
