Albert Ferdinand Oberer, one of the many men appointed to the police force in the year 1909, was born at Covington, Miami County, Ohio, on April 12, 1877. After completing his education in the public schools of that village he went to Dayton in search of employment. He filled a number of positions capably and was engaged as a street car conductor, when he received his appointment as patrolman, on May 20, 1909. Mr. Oberer is a member of the Knights of Maccabees. He has a wife, Luella, and two children, Clarence and Doris.
