John C. Perry is a Preble County man having been born in the village of West Elkton, Ohio, on September 15, 1873. While attending the public school there he spent his spare time learning the barber trade, and he was engaged as a tonsorial artist in Dayton when appointed patrolman, October 12, 1905. The barber trade lost a good man when Mr. Perry became a "copper," but the police department gained one. Mr. Perry is prominently identified with the fraternal organization, The Tribe of Ben Hur, and is well known about the city. He has a wife, Catherine.
