John Calvin Post was born in the city of Middletown, Butler County, Ohio, on October 25, 1873. He grew up in that city and obtained his education in its schools. When a young man he came to Dayton, and, after filling a number of positions, was appointed an attendant at the Dayton State Hospital. He was connected with that institution when he received an appointment to the police force on January 5, 1903. His wife's name is Carrie. Mr. Post is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and is popular in a large circle of friends. Mr. Post is also one of the five trustees of the Police Pension Fund.
