John C. Reiter, who has been doing duty as a patrolman on the police force since March 26, 1908, was born in Dayton on February 23, 1881. He received the advantage of a fair education in the public schools of the Gem City, and after leaving the school room began work in a factory. He learned the molder's trade and became so popular among his fellows that he was elected president of Local Union, I. M. U. He was following this occupation when he received his appointment. Mr. Reiter and his wife, Adina, are the parents of one son, Robert Elwood. They are members of the German Baptist Church. He is affiliated with the K. of. P.
