John Emory Vaughan, who has been a patrolman on the Dayton police department since September 13, 1909, was born in the little village of Bellbrook, Montgomery County, Ohio, on June 5, 1877. After acquiring his education and early training in the school of that village he took up his residence in Dayton, where he had secured employment. He filled a number of different positions, but finally settled on street car work. When appointed to the force he was engaged as conductor by the City Railway Company, of Dayton. Mr. Vaughan is a member of the Knights of Golden Eagle. His wife's name is Elizabeth.
