John Michael Wenzel, who has been running a "beat" on the Dayton police force since May 15, 1907, was born in the Gem City on April 5, 1882. He received his early education in the public schools, and later attended St. Mary's Parochial school. Patrolman Wenzel is probably a better judge of good bread than any other man on the force, for he was a baker before his appointment. Besides being a prominent member of the Independent Order of Foresters, Mr. Wenzel is affiliated with the Dayton Baker's Benevolent Society and the Bavarian Benevolent Society.
