Robert Werst was born at Wapakoneta, Auglaize County, Ohio, on February 12, 1875. he received a good education in the public schools of that city, and on leaving school decided to learn the trade of electrician. He was engaged in this work when appointed patrolman on the police force, March 7, 1907. Mr. Werst has a war record of three years in the Spanish-American war. Mr. Werst's experiences as an electrician and soldier qualified him for the dangers that must be encountered by a policeman. His wife's name is Minnie. He is an Odd Fellow and a Modern Woodman.
