Daniel C. Wetzel was born at the little village of Zimmerman, Ohio, on January 30, 1879. He attended the public school there, and after completing the course learned the carpenter trade. He followed this trade a number of years in his home village and then removed to Dayton, where better opportunities were afforded. When the opportunity to become a guardian of the law presented he willingly gave up the hammer and saw for the baton. He was appointed January 13, 1907. He has a wife, Stella, and two sons, Roy and Carl.
