Harry Edward Williams was born September 30, 1880, in the city of Dayton, Ohio, where he has spent his entire life so far. He attended the public schools, and after leaving the school-room began work in a factory. He later took up railroad work and at length secured a position as railroad conductor. He was engaged in this capacity when he sought a position with the police department, being appointed patrolman on September 15, 1908. Mr. Williams is affiliated with one of the Dayton K. of P. lodges. His family consists of his wife, Minnie, and a daughter, Clara.
